Nothing Growing
14November 27, 2013 by Hannah
Nothing growing is perhaps a bit overly negative, I have celeriac growing and some odd looking purple brussel sprouts, which will be ready in time for Christmas. But it’s not exactly a plethora of produce, is it? I should of course be out weeding and preparing for the next season of glorious gardening but today I did none of those things. I went for a cycle instead and look who I met!
I may have hung around the gate for longer than necessary due to the innovation that is Snapchat. The Fallabella seemed happy enough to pose for a few classic shots with me though. It was with a heavy heart that I said goodbye and finished my rather hilly cycle. Still, I got to cycle past him again on my way home which made it all the more worthwhile!
Awwwww….how ADORABLE! Far better than weeding….yes!xxx
Always better than weeding!
Oh so cute little guy! Hey, whose to say a cycle is not as good as weeding. It’s healthy for your body and keeps the “weeds” out of it, right?! Blessings, Natalie 🙂
True!
I try to look upon winter as a time to enjoy things other than gardening. It’ll all start again soon enough.
That’s probably the nice thing about gardening, you can have a break and then start up again. It’s very dependable!
I bet that he was as pleased to see you as you were him. xx
Maybe, he looked distinctly put out when I didn’t have any carrots for him!
Cute little chap! Looking for excuses for not working in the garden are you, Hannah?! 😉
The excuse found me! 🙂
Must be my eyesight but I was sure that your Fallabella was either a wild boar or a Tamworth (pig) and I was expecting a tale of adventure! So I was relieved to discover that the wild beast was a Fallabella (although I had to use Google to discover what this strange mythical creature was)!
Ha, yes just a very small pony, not a very large pig! The colouring is similar though.
I had NO idea what this creature was! A pony up to its knees in muck? Can you tell us more?
It’s a fallabella, which is a miniature horse breed. It looks like it’s the mud is indeed sucking it into the ground but it’s just the fact that the pony is TINY. I’ve seen bigger dogs.
It had plenty of hay in it’s field, so I just stopped to say hello!
